This is the Winter that Never Ends

It goes on and on my friends this is the winter that never ends...

More snow tomorrow, brutal winds, freezing temps, and overcast skies, yup, it may be officially spring, but winter didn't get the memo.

My kid's sinuses are infected.
I got a migraine.
As the winter drags on so does the sickness.

I saw on a local news web site that people are depressed over the weather, really, duh, what clued you in on that.
I have not only noticed the overall depression hanging like a dark wet blanket over everyone,
but people are MEAN right now!

No one is smiling, people aren't saying excuse me, or holding open doors for others.

I've seen more people snap at others for no reason at stores in the past 2 weeks then the past few years.
I knew extended hot weather could make people cranky and agressive but I didn't know cold weather could do that.

I'm ready to put on some flip flops, walk some laps, and drink some lemonade, but until winter decides to release it's stangle hold on Ohio I'm out of luck.

I think I've slept more the past 5 months then my entire life.
The sun, when it does shine, seems like such a strange thing and it hurts my eyes.
If i get any paler I will become transperant.

I think that concludes my winter sucks rant for now.

I can't wait to rant about how hot it is!!!

Hey Hey Now

Hey now we are getting little glimpses of spring with the big hits from winter in between.
I love winter but I'm so over it now.
I'm ready for some sunshine and flip flops.
I haven't shaved my legs since November!!!!
I'm really hairy right now.
I'm excited to shave, get a pedicure and just go outside and not freeze!
Come on spring!!!!

I think everyone in Ohio feels the same.
At least all my neighbors do!
We got up to nearly 70 degrees this past Sunday and it was amazing!
I saw people I hadn't seen in months outside.
We got all caught up on our silly little chit chat.

I took Sophie the Puggle to the dog park.
She is OUT OF SHAPE big time!
She was worn out and started getting snippy with the other pups.
She ran, played, and sniffed butts for an hour straight.

We went and got ice cream.
We had all the windows down.
It felt like FREEDOM!!!

This weekend is supposed to get into the 50's and I am going to enjoy every second of it!

I suggest if you've let winter get you down get outside and soak up that sun!
Because, at least in Ohio, the weather is more Bipolar then I am!

day 3 of the no tv challenge

i find it easier to not watch tv when my kid is not home. she is working today and tomorrow, so i have the house to myself. i was sitting on the patio enjoying the beautiful rain free day. the dog was rolling in the grass. i'm listening to my music and relaxing.

the laundry is going and i've already taken the dog on a nice walk. this is freedom! today is full of promise. the house is quiet and i feel calm.
i am loving my tv free life!!!

yo yo weather sucks

last week we hit the high 80's, yesterday the high was 48 :(

i'm sick again, sore throat, fever, headache, and i hurt like a truck ran over me.

i hate this yo yo weather.

it's been raining non stop for like a month.
even the dog is getting sick of it.
whenever the rain stop she runs to where her leash is, like she is saying, hurry walk me before the rain comes back.

we are supposed to get more rain and be back in the 80's again by the weekend. i can't remember how it feels to feel the warmth of the sun upon my face. no wonder i have to take a vitamin D supplement.

this weather isn't helping me feel any less depressed.
rain, go away!!!!

so happy that's over now

all my kid could talk about was the stupid royal wedding.
now that it is over, i am so happy!!!!
sick of hearing about it, i bet the coverage won't die down until Monday, but it's hogged up the t.v., internet, and my kid.
i thought it would have been funny if one of them would have changed their mind, but i guess not.

so back to the real world... i know it sucks, but that's where i live, how about you?

weather sucks, it's windy, cold, and raining off and on.
next weekend will be nicer, going to take the kid to tour a technical college Friday, on Saturday going to go see thor with dad and the kid, then visit cousins, then on sunday going to go visit the kid's mamaw as a surprise for mother's day.

so i need like $100 for gas just for that weekend. going to put like 600 miles on the car, dad is 2 hours west, linda is 2 hours south, and the tech college is 2 hours east, so that's a tank of gas each day, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, cuz each trip is just over 300 miles and my new little car get a little over 400 miles a tank, that's if we don't run the air conditioning.

but we don't visit often so it'll be a nice change of pace. i'm looking forward to the visits but not the driving. i think my butt will stay cramped until tuesday. but the whole point of the newer car was so we could go visit more and save on gas.

well the dog is staring at me so she either has to go out to pee or wants petted.

Organizing Chaos

the weather won't cooperate and warm up so i can get into the garage and go through the final pile of crap that just got dumped there instead of where it's supposed to go, the spare crap room! i swear, it makes perfect sense in my head.

we did get the summer clothes out for my kid. and i did organize the spare room closet and my muscle, aka, the kid, hauled up her desk and put it in the spare room. the dog was busy turning the spare bed into her nest, and it was nicely made!

why does trying to clean and organzie always make a bigger mess, it's like grape nuts, you start with a small amount, but it seems to never end!!!

i have a huge trash pile now in the garage and the pile is smaller. my kid has several "heavy" boxes of pictures, frames, scrapbook stuff to take to the spare room. Heavy to me is not heavy to her. I can't lift more then 5 pounds thanks to injuries to my back and fms. i've already got my knee aching from lifting what i have and hauling it up the stairs.

i can still remember the days when i had muscles. i can almost vaccum the floor in the living room/dining room!!!! progress!!!!

What a glorius sunshine day!!!

It is a beautiful sunny mild ohio day. It is a rare occurence in spring to have a perfect weather day and i think today is it. I want to remember this day so that when we have the next crappy day I can be reminded that there was once a perfect day. I want to turn off the air conditioning and open the windows. But my kid says she's hot and doesn't care if the house smells like wet dog. The house smells like wet dog because of all the rain we had been getting and the dog loves her puddles. Then she comes in and rolls on everything.

If you try to dry her off with a towel she thinks it's a game and tries to take the towel from you in a fierce tug of war battle. It's cute and yet so annoying since she does stink. Tonight she's getting a bath, sh! don't tell her. At least she'll smell like baby shampoo for a couple of days which is better then just plain old wet dog smell.

Maybe tonight we will try to find the dog park with a fenced in off the leash area so she's be really tired when I put her in the tub. She loves getting in the tub and splashing in the water. The moment you shut the bathroom door on her she goes into a panic, because she knows tub play time has just turned into bath time. She doesn't like being washed, she just wants to play. But I must be strong and take charge and get that stinky dog clean. I just can't take the smell anymore!
